One of the biggest parts of being a scientists is being able to perform an experiment to answer a scientific question and defend your conclusions. Today we will get the opportunity to practice this skill.

Last week you had a scientific lab where you had to perform an experiment to find out which factors effect the efficiency of a compost pile. You and your lab partner developed an hypothesis, and tested your it to see if it was correct. Today we will continue with that experiment to answer some additional questions.

Your previous task was to make the most efficient compost. Using your information from your last task, your task today is to run test to see exactly which variables has the largest impact on the efficiency. This will require you to run multiple test and collect data on all the variables. You and your partner will have to find a way to answer the scientific question. As you run test and collect data you will develop a presentation and an argumentative essay from your findings.
