Why is science important?
Student grades are determined by a weigned grade system. The percentage of each type of class activity is listed below.
-40% Test
-25% Labs/ Projects/ Essays
-20% Quizzes
-10% Classwork/ Homework

How is my grade calculated?
The best way to prepare for tests in the class is to study and review the notes as practicing using questions asked during the Check for Understanding reviews. Students should be able to identify and explain major key concepts and vocabulary in the unit.

Students may always request addtional tutoring at any point and those tutoring sessions will be held during lunch. I will also be hosting an afterschool tutoring group starting in September. Parents must sign a form to sign students up for afterschool tutoring because students and parents will be responsible for ensuring that they are picked up promptly at 6:00pm. The tutoring session afterschool will provide students with the skill sets to properly study science content and will also serve to remediate any previous content.
How do I sign up for tutoring?
Students and parents can work together to ensure that students are taking thier time in completing all assigned work. Ensure students are reading the directions before completing any assignment. Also parents and students should make sure that students spend about 10 minutes a day looking over class content. Science is a tough subject and it is important for students to constantly expose themselves to the materials and the more they are reading the information and ensuring they understand the processes the better they will do in the class. If students are ever confused on any materials please contact me and I will give clarity and provide additional resources to aid in thier understanding.
